Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

The Inadequacy of Words

Obedient One and I arrived in Manila this evening... after ten days in Chiang Mai.

Last night, we were packing our suitcases, preparing to leave Thailand.

But not only were we packing things... there are very many beautiful memories packed inside our hearts as well.

And now that we're back in our homeland, within the next few days we will be slowly unpacking the clothes, the gifts and the souvenirs...

As for the memories, words will never be adequate to describe them.

So I won't even try.

I always enjoy your photos. And few words...sometimes...silence is fitting...Because there is just no word to describe true love and friendship. May God bless you all. And I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your daughter sister Lidj. I know as you start unpacking those sweet, loving memories, we, too will be blessed by them as you share what the Lord will put into your heart. God bless.

Dear Lidj,
I have followed your journey, praying for a blessed stay.
It seems you were richly blessed and I am so happy for you.
What must have been great is making this journey with your daughter.
Mother and daughter bonding is always something special.

Your friends are looking so warm and friendly, I can feel it all the way to Norway.

I do hope much good will continue growing from this journey, because i know this was your wish and your want.

Norwegians love Thailand too. Two of my nearest friends are going there in February.
Gunnar's first cousin and her son are leaving for the Philippines in Mars.
(The son is married to a Filipino girl, and living in the Philippines almost half on the year.)

The world is indeed smaller than it used to be.
In my head Asia still is far, far away.

Now, I hope you are refreshed and strengthened for your busy Philippine life.
God bless you and yours.
From Felisol

Hi Lidj -

Glad that you went and had such a rich time fellowshipping. I praise our Lord for how he refreshed you...

In particular, I love the photo of you at the water.

Note: You may be inclined to read my post done today, Monday January 17, 2011, titled, "GOD'S ADVENTURE FOR ME IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, INCLUDING A RESPONSE FROM RICK."

Those salads look delicious! And, the hats just say joy and fun! What agreat joy on so many faces!

But the cold? How cold was it to be bundled up like that? I am so curious! Here,it was 46 degrees today and I thought we were having a heat wave:)

A beautiful adventure in a New Year! What a mighty way to begin!

By all your photos, I see how beautiful the country is! Question: Did you finish that enormous salad? (All the food looked delicious.)

Lidj, I tried to find your e mail, but realised you don't have one here. So I hope you won;t mind if my message may sound a little personal out here. Just wanted to say I am glad to have encountered you. You are a reflection of God's love! I am also so thrilled to know that your middle name shares the same meaning as mine, which is, 'Happiness'.

I read the poetry by L.E. Singer on your sidebar, 'If you Could See Me Now'. Ernie looks like such a wonderful man and like Ben, I like to try to be happy for them for they are Home.

Our journey has not been easy but I like to think that everything that happens, God intends it for good. Sending you my love, Feliza!
