Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

Ruby Garden Joys

Hosted by Mary at Work of the Poet

It's Ruby Tuesday over at Mary/The Teach and I'm happy to be participating this week.

Here are a few pictures I have taken over the past several days.

Rainy season has begun in our country, and the plants in our garden are just so happy!

This was taken after a night of rain, a left-over raindrop in the middle of the garden gate. It was only later that I noticed the red bromeliad flower in the background...

As for the rest of the pictures I think they can speak for themselves!

Happy Ruby Tuesday, everyone!

Dear Lidj,
What an abundance of red colors and variety in shape and size of our beautiful flowers.
The wet stones in the garden way also
are so full of life and pattern.
Rain sure gives an extra dimension to our surroundings.
It's sometimes hard to admit to me, who prefer to be in the sun..

Beautiful! Yes - we may not like the rain but without it, things would look a lot different! It is raining here as I type.

What beautiful flowers! Are all those native to the Philippines? I recognized the Bromeliad, and also the ... third picture. The one on your porch. I don't remember the name. I have a variety of that plant on my desk at home. So neat that we have 'tropical' houseplants here that (might be?) native to you! :D
