Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

In the Time of Favor

Clouds over Bacolod City
March 10, 2010

In the time of My favour I will answer you,
and in the day of salvation I will help you;
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people,
to restore the land
and to reassign its desolate inheritances,
to say to the captives, 'Come out,'
and to those in darkness, 'Be free!'

They will feed beside the roads
and find pasture on every barren hill,
They will neither hunger nor thirst,
nor will the desert heat or the sun
beat upon them,
He who has compassion on them will guide them
and lead them beside springs of water.

Shout for joy, O heavens;
rejoice, O earth;
burst into song, O mountains!
For the LORD comforts his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

- Isaiah 49: 8-10, 13

Our country is undergoing a severe dry spell. And we are continuing to ask God in His mercy and compassion, to send us the badly needed rain.

Tomorrow, my friend Ruby and I will be going to Manila to give an Ancient Paths seminar for a special family. We are praying for breakthrough.

When we sought God's heart to confirm if this was an assignment He was giving us, both Ruby and I heard a "Yes."

God spoke to me through the words of Isaiah 49 which I have quoted above.

It amazed me that it was a passage that spoke of rain, rejoicing, bursting into song!

Praise God indeed for this assurance! Indeed, we position ourselves in the paths of breakthrough by obeying.

Thank you for journeying with me, and praying for me, dear friends! I truly appreciate the encouragement and affirmation that you have given me!

Below are a few pictures of my journey these past three months that I want to share with you:

My best friend, Melanie and I, spent this afternoon at Starbucks, our favorite coffee place. In just a few weeks, she will return to the US where she lives.

I took this photo of my grandson Matt just this afternoon.

A photo of my cell group which I took this evening. We meet every Wednesday evening to study God's word.
We started a new series tonight, entitled, "Journey Into Kingdom Secrets."
A deeper look into the parables of Jesus.

For rain - of the water type as well as that of the Spirit...on your dry land and on your "assignment". May God's Name be honored and exalted.

It was VERY good to see some of the people and highlights of your past few months. Thanks for posting them!

Loved this Scripture from Isaiah 49 and it must be something important because someone gave me this same one yesterday. I'm paying attention to it!

Loved all the pictures and you're a DQ girl too??
Me too, Lidj!

Loved those gardens - WOW!!!

I have a friend here who is moving back to the Philippines next year sometime - to Manila - her name is Reggie. I gave her your name and my card so she could get to know you now before she comes. She is a believer and has a cell group as you do who she stays close with there. I hope she gets in touch with you soon.

Love to you and yes, may this indeed be the year of the Lord's favor for both of us!

Lidj,

What a heart you have for God. I stand in awe of the amazing things and work He is going to make happen in your life this year. I feel confident that He will provide for you in every place you feel called.

As always we pray for your safe travels and the love of God upon you to minister His words to those that need to hear it. Like the rain you so desperately need, so are the desperate needs of God's people to feel the refreshing waters of His rain.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

What a beautiful passage! I remember a few years ago we had a very dry summer. The crops weren't growing and we were praying for rain. What joy there was when the rain fell!
Praying for the seminar and for rain too!

I'll be praying Lidj, that the weekend will be deep and meaningful for those you will be speaking to, that God will share His word through you and in the process encourage your own heart, which He always does during these times.

I love the pictures, and I'm sure you're getting busy in your garden, even as you pray for rain.

Blessings!

Isn't it interesting that God gave you the verse for spiritual renewal when the opposite is true of your land right now? The physical world is where we place our concern, but God knows which renewal is most important--our hearts and souls. Loved the pics--and oh my, what a big breakfast! Much love, Lidj.

Such a beautiful verse and such beautiful photos and reflections you have shared with us. Thank you, Lidj!

And I will keep you and your home in my prayers.
"In the time of My favour I will answer you..." I love that!
It reminds me of a song by Dottie Peoples ~ "He's An On-Time God" ~
He may not be there when you want Him, but He'll be there right on time.
I pray that your desire for your homeland is fulfilled.

Thank you, Lidj, for your kind comments to me always, I appreciate your support.

Your grandson is such a handsome, happy looking boy! God Bless him, and God Bless you.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

Girlfriend! Congrats on your first Moo Latte!!! I'm so proud of you!

These pictures are just lovely. You look so pretty in pink. There's no way that I believe you ate all that food on your plate, though. You would have floated away!

May God richly bless your evangelism efforts. What a beautiful picture of all these woman of God!

Your tea tree is beautiful! Your grandson joyful! And that dog is amazing! I cannot wait to see our trees bloom. My lillies at my old house were about 2 inches above ground this weekend! A time for refreshing and emergence from this cocoon I have been within. Everything is drenched here with rain. I will pray for a refreshing rain for you (not too big and not too small but just right).

I remember, when my oldest son was one or two years old. We had a drought all summer long and I prayed for rain because I wanted to make Bread and Butter Pickles. Finally, the rain came and my son and I danced in it we were so excited. My Bread and Butter Pickles won first place at the county fair that year!
Droughts are uncomfortable but they only disguise the blessing God has planned:)
