Today my grandson Matthew turns seven months old.
I'm still in Manila, so I am not able to be with him to pray for him and release my grandmother's blessing over him physically.
But prayer knows no borders!
I declare that there is an open heaven over me and my beloved family. Heaven hears my heart. God is the one who planted these words in my heart.
Even at a distance I can bless my dearest grandson, whom I have called Forerunner, and know that it will reach him and impact his life.
When my First Born son was still a small boy, I have already prayed for the wife that he would eventually marry. I have prayed that she would be a godly woman, someone who will be a submissive and prayerful wife, and a mother committed to raising the next generation in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
This prayer has been granted. The woman that my son married is a godly woman. God will continue to help her to grow and mature and learn to be the woman that God wants her to be. Because she has a humble and teachable heart, she will be a good mother to my grandson and a good wife to my son.
I continue to pray for First Born, that he will also grow and mature to be a godly husband and father, be the strongman and gatekeeper over his family, be the role model and leader that his family can look up to.
I thank God for I know He hears the prayers of my heart.
For those of you who have read some of my previous posts, you already have an idea of my spiritual journey.
By stages, God led me closer and closer to His heart. And God is leading me still. I truly desire to be a woman after God's heart.
I realize that my words, thoughts, and actions - my life choices that shape and mold my inner person and build my hidden character -- will impact the next generations to come after me.
Many years from now, the choices that I make today will still be impacting my generations!
I have shared the lyrics of Sara Groves moving song, entitled Generations at the end of today's post. (For those who wish to hear what this song is like, scroll down to my playlist found at the very bottom of this blog page.)
Through the peak and valley experiences and circumstances of my life, one thing I have learned is to be fearless.
I realize that with God, I can do anything!
I can face giants...
I am not afraid of what the future holds...
I am not afraid of what man can do to me...
It is amazing what trusting in God and holding on to Him alone has done to me.
But it is true: God has taught me what it means to be fearless.
Here is the blessing that is resonating in my heart for my dear Forerunner:
Today, my dear grandson, Forerunner, as you turn seven months old, I pass on this blessing to you, the blessing of being a fearless man.
At an early age, may you not fear to go where God wants you to go, and do what God wants you to do.
May you never live for the praises of man, so that you will never be imprisoned by what others think of and say about you.
May you learn this while you are still young: that you will not run after the opinions of man, but will care only for what the Heavenly Father thinks of you!
In this way, you will be fearless... and you will be a very dangerous person to the kingdom of darkness. Because as a fearless man, you will be untouchable to the schemes and evil designs of the enemy!
May you live for one thing alone -- to give glory and honor and pleasure to the heart of your God, your King, your Master, your Lord.
May you have enough life lessons that will teach you fearlessness.
May your mother and father teach you by their own example, and may you learn that with God all things are possible!
May you learn the faith language that can speak to mountains in your life to be removed and thrown into the sea, and they will obey you!
I declare that God is your Rock, and your Fortress, and your Deliverer, your Strength, your Shield, and the Horn of your salvation, your Stronghold! (Psalm 18:1-2)
I declare that God is your light and your Salvation, whom then shall you fear? (Psalm 27:1)
God will rescue you from your strong enemy, He will be your Support, your Strong Tower!
With a heart that trusts and obeys, may you learn fearlessness and courage at a young, tender age, like David, the shepherd boy!
May these words be true of you, dear beloved Forerunner:
For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness,
For by You I can turn against a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.
As for God His way is perfect
The word of God is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
For who is God except the LORD?
And who is a rock except our God?
It is God Who arms me with strength
And makes my way perfect
He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
And sets me on high places.
He teaches my hands to make war
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
- Psalm 18:28-34
On this your seventh month birthday, I declare you to be a Fearless Forerunner in God's kingdom!
Generations
by Sara Groves
I can taste the fruit of Eve
I'm aware of sickness, death and disease
The results of our choices are vast
Eve was the first but she wasn't the last
And if I were honest with myself
Had I been standing at that tree
My mouth and my hands would
be covered with fruit
Things I shouldn't know and
things I shouldn't see
Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know
She taught me to fear the serpent
I'm learning to fear myself
And all of the things I am capable of
In my search for wisdom, acceptance and wealth
And to say that the devil made me do it
Is a cop out and a lie
The devil can't make me do anything
When I'm calling on Jesus Christ
Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know
To my great, great, great grand daughter
Live in peace
To my great, great, great grand son
Live in peace
To my great, great, great grand daughter
Live in peace
To my great, great, great grand son
Live in peace, oh, live in peace
Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know
Oh, remind me
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know
Oh, I may never know

To read your love written out, is an honor! Thank you for allowing the blogger world to experience first hand what a godly grandmother looks like!
With Much Love...
I don't take lightly the prayers for my own children. I do it daily and like you, have prayed for their spouses, etc., from the day they were born.
I love this prayer! I will pray it over my own children, too. (And I, too, pray for their future spouses and those children's parents.)
This is so precious . What a loving heart you have. I know God will honor that prayer and bless your grandson.
I pray your day has been a good one .My dear husband has been gone 22 months today. How I miss him.But God is faithful and keeps going before me ,showing me the way.Praise His Holy Name.

Thanks for stopping at my blog. I enjoyed this post and your comment that prayer knows no borders. So true! I see you like Dutch Sheets - He has some great books on prayer!
The blessings of godly parents are passed on to their children.
The Lord has your family in the palm of His hand.
I have seen D Sheets books but never read them.
Dear Lidj,
Your grandson, Forerunner (what an impressive name) is blessed because of having such a wise and loving grandmother. Every prayer you say, every caring thought and wish for this little child will be helping him for every day in his life.
I'll tell you a story from my life.
I had been through some rough waters and asked the Lord, "What will life be for me, what shall I do?"
I have experienced answers before and after, when in deepest darkness I've come to the Lord with all my worries.
I opened my Bible, Job 5. 17-27.
21 You will be protected from the lash of the tongue,
and need not fear when destruction comes.
22 You will laugh at destruction and famine,
and need not fear the beasts of the earth.
23 For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field,
and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
24 You will know that your tent is secure;
you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.
25 You will know that your children will be many,
and your descendants like the grass of the earth.
26 You will come to the grave in full vigor,
like sheaves gathered in season.
27 "We have examined this, and it is true.
So hear it and apply it to yourself."
I wrote the date in my Bible 07.28.1978
I had no husband nor any candidate in sight.
I thought, maybe God means that all the helpless children I work with are my children, and I devoted all my strength and love to them.
Ten years later, at the age of 38, My Serina was born, and Gunnar, my became my one and only husband.
I have been ill much of the last 20 years, but I await to see grandchildren and live a full life before I come to my grave in full vigor.
Of course I have laid Serina and her well being spiritually and physically on the Lord from the time before she was born.
I just know He'll keep his promises.
From Felisol
dear crown of beauty,
are you not like timothy's grandmother lois?
2 Timothy 1:5
"When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also."
that is such a good thing for the little forerunner.
of course all of your prayers will be heeded by god...after all he is your father!
i so love the names that you called your children...."first born", "obedient one" and "worshiper"....they are all bible names and surely yours and ernie's bringing them up to be godly children and your prayers for them have made all the difference dear lady! and your marriage example.
your poem of blessing to little forerunner reminds me of the chapter where jacob blessed all his sons before he went to heaven.
he had a true fathers heart and you have a true mothers and grandmother's heart crown of beauty,
i like your name too lidj,"crown of beauty"...i shall always call you this...love terry
ps...isn't that felisol of mine just something,eh crown of beauty?
Can't remember if I told you thank you for your sweet comment on my story on my blog. Reason I'm saying that is because your comment is still in my e-mail inbox.
Appreciate your time and words.
Love your heart for your grandson. He is blessed to have you. Your prayers matter.
Hi Lidj,
God must have a reason for you still being in Manila and I pray that you rest in His knowledge.
As for that precious prayer for your grandson, I definitely am adding this to the other prayers you wrote already. What a blessed child Matthew is to have such a "Lois"--a godly and wise grandmother in his life...
Rest in Him, dear friend...
Love, Sita
Lidj,
Thank you for your example of what a godly grandmother should be! Two of my daughters are expecting, so I embrace your love and prayers. I'm going to share the Scriptures and song you shared with us!
Thank you. You are such a blessing to read and "know!"
Love, Linda
