Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

Prayer for America

Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.

- John 14:27

In this world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.

- John 16:33

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

Thank you!

I like the Saint Francis of Assisi prayer. I had it posted on my refrigerator for a while to remind myself of what I am called to be.

My family and I saw beautiful fireworks last night. Every time I see them I go back into time and imagine what it was like to be Francis Scott Key, a prisoner held aboard a British ship watching the "rockets red glare."

Bless you, dear friend!!!

Amen! I honestly believe we can always use more prayer. It is the best wireless communication we have with our Lord and Savior!

Beautiful! Thank you, Lidj!

And I want to express my great thankfulness to you for your encouraging words and prayers!!!

God is so good! He has been with us and continues to strengthen us.

Jeff goes to the drs. Monday and Tuesday. He has to have many tests. We will hopefully know more soon, but in the waiting time, I stand believing in the name of the Lord Most High, trusting in His mighty grace!

You are a jewel. A true vessel of honor in God's kingdom! What a blessing you are to me and so many others!

Thank you so much for everything.

I am behind in my blogging due to circumstances and a house full of company, but I will be catching-up soon.

My thoughts are with you and all who are so kind. What joy the Lord has given me through my dear far-away friends who are so nigh my heart!

God bless.

Resting in His Love,

Andrea
