Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

Saturday Step of Faith - 1

This is the verse I am believing for this week's "Steps of Faith":

For still the vision awaits its time;
it hastens to the end--it will not lie,
If it seems slow, wait for it;
It will surely come, it will not delay.
- Habakkuk 2:3 (RSV)

This passage from Habakkuk is a part of what God spoke to the prophet.

Though there was much evil in the world that day, things happening that His people could not understand, He was moving according to His perfect timetable.

He will not delay, He will come, He will move at the appointed time.

I have questions in my heart about the pace my life is moving at. I find it slow, and I am wondering if I am not missing out on something.

I want my life to count for Him.

My nation is at the crossroads of destiny. I know I am part of the movement that will usher in a revival to our country...

I am looking forward to a deeper participation in the identity and destiny ministry I have been involved in these past eight years...

The ministries I am a part of in my home church back in Bacolod City are waiting for me to come back...

I know my family and grandson back there are waiting for me, too...

Many other concerns rising up in my heart.

So what am I doing here, away from where the action is? This is my question to the Lord.

Although I have no doubt, I know that for now, I am right where God wants me to be... my heart wants to be in two places at the same time.

When I read these words this morning, something was quickened in my spirit. God touched my heart.

This other verse from the book of Habakkuk lines up with the promise quoted above:

But the LORD is in His holy temple
let all the earth keep silence before Him.

- Habakkuk 2:20

So now, let me keep silent, and wait... and believe.

Thank you dear blog friends for waiting, and believing, with me!

You are all an encouragement to my heart, and my faith journey.

I wrote this verse down over a month ago and taped it to my desk at school. I was struggling with leaving teaching and not knowing what to do next. At first I felt so overwhelmed, but the more I prayed, I began to feel peace with what God was doing. Life seems so crazy sometimes, but I know that He has a plan for me that I sometimes cannot see. He will reveal it to me though in His time. Thanks for this post. It was great!
