But encourage one another daily,
as long as it is called Today,
so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
- Hebrews 3:13
I received a pleasant surprise early this morning.
Upon visiting a blog site owned by Pastor Ron from central Florida, I saw a familiar picture on his July 20 post. It was the picture of my desk, which I have used as the header of my blog title. It took me a few seconds to realize that Pastor Ron had picked my blog as his featured blog of the week.
He had such kind words to say about my blog, it was like receiving a very personal blog award!
I know he doesn't expect me to write about his blog here, not at all!
But I do want to share that Pastor Ron's blog is one blog I enjoy visiting. His is a well rounded blog where he writes what he thinks and feels about many areas: his relationship with God, his family life, the events at the church that he pastors, computers, historical events, government policies, politics, Bibles, fountain pens, journals, coffee shops, and many other things that he is quite knowledgeable about.
He even has a unique weekly Bible study in his church where the questions are not too easy to answer: you need to do a bit of research to be able to defend your answer. He shares the weekly questions on his blog and invites the readers to join in. It really is fun, and quite challenging. I've had the privilege of trying my hand at it a few times.
If you want to know why his blog is called From Preacherpen's Desk, you will have to visit his blog and read about it yourself.
Well, all I really wanted to say here is:
for encouraging my heart today,
and for honoring what God, our Creator,
has done in my life.
One wonderful thing I have discovered about my blog friendships is that God’s many facets are revealed through the people He has created in His image. I never cease to wonder… each new facet I get to discover in you and my other blog friends as I follow your lives on cyberspace leads me to know, love, and honor the Creator more. Such creativity, such depth of insight, such grace and kindness… words will never suffice to express what I really want to say.
No wonder, heaven will be such a place of homecoming, truly a place to look forward to.
Visiting one another's blogs, reading what is written as a way of sharing the blog author's heart, showing interest, and leaving behind a prayerful response or a kind remark ... these are the means by which we encourage one another, something that is needed by fellow believers in Christ.
Why do we need to encourage each other daily? The Bible states it clearly:
To keep our hearts from being hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Isn't that amazing? Whether in real life, or in cyberspace, we can apply this spiritual principle.
Thank you, Pastor Ron, for sharing my life journey, for praying, and for your words of encouragement.
And now... it is time for me to return all the glory and the honor to my God and King. He alone deserves the praise!

Lidia, you honor me in a way not expected. Thank you; may all the glory alone go to the one true living God. Be blessed.
I know that I am encouraged, refreshed and challenged every time I visit your blog. Thank you for helping myself and other readers to see God more clearly. Blessings...
First of all congratulations for receiving this honor from Pastor Ron! I will definitely be checking out his blog later today!
I too agree with you that in addition to not only following blogs, but if you stop by and read what was written, a note of encouragement goes a long way. You never know what has coursed through someone's day and at that very moment when your comment is posted could make their day just a bit brighter.

That's great that your blog was featured somewhere else. I also enjoy your posts a great deal. They are refreshment to me as you teach from the word.
Lidj,
That is so wonderful to be honored as Pastor Ron's blog of the week. I totally agree how encouraging it is to share my life with others here in the blogging world as they visit and leave prayers and uplifting words in my comment box. I love to encourage others and have thoroughly enjoyed venturing into all of the lives of those I have met here. Even though I have just met you, I have been encouraged here greatly. God is good! Enjoy your God given day!

To one whom God has given a gift in thoughts ,understanding and the way to write them done..
I am not surprised at all that you would be the recipient of this award,
You bless so many I know and I have been lifted up in spirit, when in need many times ,when I visit here.
God is so good to lead us to people who help us along the pathway as we walk toward heavens gates.

Lidj, just as Grandma Elsie, I am not suprised that you received this honor from Pastor Ron. I know no one more deserving than you.
Your gift of encouragement and love of the Lord inspires me each day. Even on days when I'm unable to visit your blog, I think of you and your astounding faith in Christ. It awes me! And it propels me forward.
And, yes, you are so right about our blog friends. I am encouraged and lifted through these cyber friendships as much as I am through face-to-face ones.
Thank you so much for your prayers for my husband. I know everything is going to turn out well for him with all these tests.
God is so good to us!!! We do not deserve or earn His blessings. We are merely recipients of His unmerited favor. How thankful I am this morning for God's steadfast love that never ceases!!!
I pray your Sunday is filled with wondrous beauty and a special presence of God that will strengthen you and give you peace.
Much Love In Jesus Christ Our Soon-Coming Savior,
Andrea
Congratulations Lidj! Won't it be neat to get to heaven and meet all our fellow Christian bloggers! Talk about a homecoming. Thanks for the beautiful comment on my blog. I'm 32, so yes, I look to your blog to see what has worked and what hasn't to keep you on the path loving Jesus. Last week was really rough (No helper girls here! Just 3 destructive little ones). Doug's eye is better. Liza's test is over. And 4 of my classes got finished on time. Praise God! And I can't thank you enough for your prayers.
encouraging each other is so important, isn't it? i'm glad your heart was uplifted ... :o) ... our God has surprising ways of cheering us on!!!
blessings on your week ... and thank you for always being so kind when you visit me!!!
Dear Lidj,
Congratulations on your Honors.
Indeed you deserve it.
There's always a lot of work and thoughts behind your blog-posts.
Lot of food for soul and brain.
I went over to Preacherpen's. It was also an interesting blog.
I think I will go over next week and join in for the Bible competition.
My Dad always enjoy such knowledge games.
He'd make the questions so hard, that in the end there would be but one member of the church left to answer.
It was great fun though, and a great way to learn to know the scripture.
I wish you a blessed week.
