Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

Jacob's Dream for a Jacob Generation

"On that day I will raise up
The tabernacle of David which has fallen down,
And repair its damages;
I will raise up its ruins,
And rebuild it as in the days of old;
That they may possess the remnant of Edom,
And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,"
says the Lord who does this thing.

Amos 9:11-12

"But the hour is coming, and now is,
when true worshipers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth,
for the Father is seeking such to worship Him."

John 4:23

My close friends know that I have a deep love for Israel, because I believe that as the new Israel, we need to be re-connected to our Jewish roots and heritage.

There is something that is stirred up inside of me whenever I read the story of the patriarchs - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua...

And my friends know that the life of Jacob touches my heart in a special way. (Read about it in my previous post entitled Jacob's Ladder.)

Two of the things that I am really passionate about is worship and intercession.

On this post, I want to share one song that I never get tired of hearing.

On Sunday I will be traveling to Guam, together with my sister in law and other members of the Board of Regents of the university where I work. We will be there for a week.

In the meantime, I pray that your hearts will be drawn to the same God that Jason Upton sings about, and look forward to the end-time restoration of David's fallen tent, as Amos writes in the passage I quoted above.

Jacob really longed to be a hero
All I really wanted was a friend
I'm the Way, the Life, the Truth
So tell Me Jacob
When will the lying end?
And does the striving
Make you strong?

Because when I came to love on you
You fought Me till the dawn
Finally Jacob's lying down
And while he sleeps I will dream
of a generation not known
for their crowns
or success, but a King...
Who was not so much as interested
in crowds, or pleasing men,
but knowing Me

I have given Jacob's generation
the key of David, intimacy
To open up the doorway
To the nations
and release revelation
of intimacy, with Me

Jacob had a dream for all the ages
Jacob had a drive to build a nation
But the fighting is in vain
If your only aim is to build
your own great name
Because My dream's not what you do
Jacob will you dream for Me
The way that I have dreamed
for you

I have given Jacob's generation
the key of David, intimacy
To open up the doorway
to the nations
and release revelation
of intimacy with Me

Wow! I've never heard of this powerfully anointed man before, but am so glad you invited me to listen. Thank you.

Don't you love what the Lord did for us? "and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,"
(Ephesians 2:6, ESV)

It's so interesting you write about the tabernacle of David; I taught on this very subject about three weeks ago, and never grow tired of it. Have you read the book, The Power of His Presence by Graham Truscott? If not, you would probably enjoy reading it.

There is so much said about the Lord restoring true, pure worship as it relates to Amos 9 and Acts 15. Personally, my belief is the Lord wants to restore his presence in a manner we haven't seen or felt before.

Again, thank you for sharing your passion for worship and the things of God. Have a blessed and productive trip.

Oh, I have wanted to purchase a Jason Upton CD for a while now. I feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit as I listen to him sing/play. The essence of worship is not the songs we sing or the music we play, but does the songs and music touch God's heart. I want to touch God's heart like that through my worship, whether singing or dancing or living.

A few weeks ago during corporate worship at my church, I saw God's huge, outstretched hands coming down from heaven and filling the sanctuary. I could see a tiny figure dancing on His palms; the figure was me!! My Lord beautifully encouraged me in my worship of Him. The awesome thing is that I not only dance for Him, but with Him, and, when I am not physically dancing, He dances over me!!! (I feel a post bubbling up in my spirit!)

Thank you for encouraging me to worship my Jesus in abandon!!

Love you...BG
