Matthew, at five months.My grandson Matthew, whom I have named Forerunner turned five months old today.
I have been praying for God to instill the character of Christ in this little boy.
Today, I focused on Christ's humility, and this is the passage I read to him:
Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty
And before honor is humility.
Proverbs 18:12
A special prayer for my grandson today:
"Matthew, my dearest grandson, today I bless you with the spirit of humility that will cause you to acknowledge that all you have and are is the result of God's grace in your life.
May every joyful, happy, successful experience be combined with the spirit of humility. You will never be conceited over your successes because wisdom will tell you that they are not a result of your own effort or talent. You will know they are a gift to you -- a blessing from your Heavenly Father.
You will be free from feelings of inferiority, for God is going to give you an indomitable spirit, not a haughty spirit but one of meekness and humility.
This is my blessing for you, in Jesus name."

Your grandson is .."sho sho cute..."... I've been going through old photos and seeing the baby photos again has been so great...I do so love that prayer for your grandson..shall use it for my sons as well...
IVCF was a wonderful time in my life..I followed their 'unofficial' creed..."you have a problem?...I have a book.."(-;...that group really opened up my denominational box and made me think outside of the box...also made lifelong friends in the International Student Ministry...did you ever hear of URBANA? Did you also have an Asian conference like it? That's where I 'met' Billy Graham and Eric Alexander...ooh such memories...
