Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

I Love the Philippines-8: Independence Day

The Making of the Philippine Flag
by Fernando Amorsolo

Today we celebrate our Independence Day.

The revolution for independence from Spanish rule broke out in early 1898. As a demonstration of the freedom that we Filipinos aspired for, Emilio Aguinaldo, one of the revolutionary leaders, declared Philippine independence from the balcony of his house in Kawit, Cavite.

The date was June 12, 1898.

This date is considered the official birth of the Philippine Republic.

For the first time, the Philippine flag, was unfurled.

Two bands played Julian Felipe's Marcha Nacional Filipina which became the Philippines' national anthem. The declaration further embolded the fighting Filipinos.

The painting above is done by Filipino national artist Fernando Amorsolo depicting the manual sewing of the very first Philippine flag by Marcela Agoncillo, her eldest daughter, and a family friend.

Marcela Agoncillo is famous in Philippine history as the principal seamstress of the first and official flag of our country gaining her the title of Mother of the Philippine Flag.

She was a daughter of a rich family in her hometown of Taal, Batangas. She was schooled in music and feminine crafts. At the age of 30, Agoncillo married Filipino lawyer and jurist Don Felipe Agoncillo. They had six children. Her marriage led to her important role in Philippine history. When her husband was exiled to Hong Kong during the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution, she and the rest of the family joined him and temporarily resided there to avoid the anti-Filipino hostility of some foreign countries.

While in Hong Kong, General Emilio Aguinaldo requested her to sew a flag that would represent our country. Together with her eldest daughter and a friend, she manually sewed the flag in accordance with General Aguinaldo's design which later became the official flag of the Philippines. Pray for the Philippines.

We know that in the last days, as the saints walk more intimately with the Lord, becoming more and more Christlike, and allowing the fruit of the Spirit to be manifest their lives, they will increasingly mature in their spiritual giftings and callings, and there will be more authentic signs and wonders as a way of God's counteracting the wave of demonic deception and oppression spreading over the whole earth.

People with gifts of prophetic words of knowledge will receive the mandate from heaven to boldly proclaim what God is showing them.

We know what the Bible teaches about prophecies. We are to test every prophecy, and ask the Lord to confirm it. So this has been our stand over the prophetic declarations over our nation.

Below is a prophecy given by Cindy Jacobs for the Philippines in 2001. When we heard this our hearts were stirred with hope. Many have already spoken similar things over our nation. There is no doubt in our hearts that our beloved nation has a prophetic destiny. Please do join us in interceding for our nation.

Recent prophecy over our nation, also by Cindy Jacobs:

THE NEXT TWO YEARS EXTREMELY SIGNIFICANT

I want you to pray, the next two years, the Lord is showing me, are going to be extremely significant for the Philippines. You’re kind of on the cusp of re-civilization. Either you’re gonna go into greatness, it’s going to transform the nation, or I see that there’s gonna be some trouble times. So Pray, Pray, Pray! I know you’re already praying, but this is the time God is gonna pull down the SPIRIT OF CORRUPTION, and God is going to release the Spirit of truth and righteousness into this nation, because ‘Righteousness exalts a nation.’ (Read more here.)

God brought you to mind this morning and I have been praying for you!
I join with you also in praying for your nation as I ask you to pray for ours. Just as righteousness exalts a nation, sin is a disgrace to any people. I'm afraid America is stepping further and further away from God.

Blessings to you dear friend!

Wow! Fantastic stuff! And the flag of Israel was made ... was it made after this prophecy? That could be very significant. I'm so glad God's destinies are always full of hope and expectation. Even in the midst of trouble.
