Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

Sisters

Sita from Canada sent me this blog award today. It was a blessing and an encouragement to receive it!

I would like to pass on this award to some of my blog friends who I consider as my blog sisters.

A "blog sister," to me, is someone whom I have perceived to have a passion for the same things as I do. We may not be alike in many ways, but this "sister" feels like a sister!

In varying degrees, this "sister" has reached out to me,

has made me feel that she cares,

has written me private email that has helped clarify an issue in my life,

has gone out of her way to make me feel I'm special,

is not in a hurry to read the posts I write,

does not only read my latest post, but actually goes back to my archives, in a desire to get to know me more...

doesn't make my visiting her blog site a requirement for her to visit mine...

and many more beautiful qualities.

I have picked out eight "sisters" who have made my blog life so special and exciting:

1. Sita's Sanctum - I visited Sita's blog many months ago, and I have kept visiting because I appreciate the way she loves God, and how she wants to keep growing in her walk. We share a love for music! She's a real music lover, just like our family! She's real... she's authentic...she's honest...she's open, just like a real sister. This sister lives in Canada.

2. Beautiful Grace - I discovered her blog while looking for writings by Bob Sorge many months ago. It's a divine appointment. She's an encourager. She was a faithful reader of my blog while I was in Chiang Mai Thailand. She has prayed for me. She has helped clarify issues for me. She understands my desire to grow and to faithfully walk in my prophetic giftings. I feel like we are on the same page and frequency. She has given me yummy recipes. We have become not only friends, but in a way, almost like sisters, in real life. This sister lives in Pennsylvania, USA.

3. The Other Side Of... - I discovered her blog while looking for a picture to post with my favorite hymn "Be Thou My Vision". I know this isn't a chance happening. I discovered a true sister, someone who really cares. She has loved me, beyond more than what I have expected of a blog friend. And the amazing thing is that God has also put a love in my heart for her. I have found myself praying for her and her daughter many times, and even crying for her when I know she's going through difficult times. This sister lives in Michigan, USA.

4. On the Far Side of the Sea - Felisol is like a sister to me. We have the same love for nature, for poems, for photography. A visit to her blog always gives me a feeling of having been in the presence of an artist, and a poet. Another common thing we have is the selfless and unconditional love that a father can give a daughter, and we both love our earthly fathers very much! When Felisol leaves a comment on my blog posts, they are well thought out, not hurriedly given. I appreciate her because she makes me feel important and appreciated. Felisol lives in Norway.

5. Calling to deep and

6. Hope is calling are two sisters in real life, and I am so glad I "met" them. I really really feel like Annie and Katie are my own sisters, though I have only met them fairly recently. I am committed to getting to know them more, and I feel that they have this same kind of commitment to me. I know their "plates are full," which makes the time they devote to our blog friendship even more precious. Our friendship with one another has been a real blessing to my heart. Annie lives in Minnesota, and Katie lives in Ohio, USA.

7. Letters from Midlife is another blog friend who has become like a sister to me. I look forward to reading her posts, and her visits to my blog as well. She writes many Grace Notes on her blog, and I do come away so encouraged each time I visit her post. She's quite open with her thoughts and feelings, as well as her fears and concerns. I love her for her vulnerability and honesty, as well as her humility. She has a love for beauty, and in many ways, I see myself in her. Cindy is from Indiana, USA.

8. A Parson's Wife is my newest "discovery." I've visited a number of blogs... and though each blog I've visited is truly a work of art, I will have to be honest and say that Andrea's blog IS the best blog I've seen so far. Her blog is beautiful. Period. The word "beautiful" literally means: delighting the senses; eliciting intellectual and emotional admiration; aesthetically pleasing. Andrea does take time to make her blog a delightful place to visit. I feel that she is a sister, and that our hearts beat for the same things, although our friendship started only a few weeks ago. Andrea lives in the USA.

I am honored also! Thank you, Lidj.

As you know, I feel blessed to have met you, and I love "knowing" someone from the other side of the world...somehow who grew up in a different environment. I think I love it so much, because God uses our own experiences to show us more of Him, so when we share experiences that are different, we learn more of Him than we ever could alone. Blessings!
