Grace Walk
Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't try to lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

-Matthew 11:29-30 The Message

Hidden Treasures
One of the most satisfying aspects of writing
is that it can open in us deep wells of hidden treasures
that are beautiful for us as well as for others to see.

-Henri Nouwen in Bread for the Journey

A Modern Day Psaltery
David wrote psalms to express
what was in his heart.
Seeing no need to hide what he felt,
he wrote with sincerity, and with no hidden agenda.
What he felt was never taken against him.
Pray, dear reader, discern my heart between the lines.
Dinah Maria Craik couldn't have said it better:
"Oh the comfort -- the inexpressible comfort
of feeling safe with a person --
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but pouring them all right out, just as they are,
chaff and grain together;
certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then, with the breath of kindness
blow the rest away."

New Life

New Life

Birth is the sudden opening of a window,
through which you look out upon a stupendous prospect.
For what has happened?
A miracle.
You have exchanged nothing for the possibility of everything.

- William MacNeile Dixon

Andre Elijah was finally discharged from the hospital last Wednesday. His last chest x-ray and blood test results showed that all infections have cleared up and he is well enough to go home.

This newborn baby, whom I have named Full of Hope and Mighty Warrior was in hospital for a total of eleven days.

Our family celebrated this special event by getting together for apple pie and vanilla ice cream on Wednesday night.

We are also looking forward to the visit of my daughter, Obedient One, who arrives from Manila early tomorrow. She will be with us this weekend to personally welcome her new nephew into this world.

I want to thank all of you my dear blog friends who have shared this journey with us, and prayed for the baby's complete healing and recovery. Your prayers have reached the heart of God, and have given us strength and hope!

I'm sharing some pictures of this week's events:

I think it's nice you all went to the memorial park and the stones you left were a nice touch.

What a precious and beautiful baby! Praise God that he was able to come home. Thank you for sharing all of the photos. It helps to feel more a part of your life despite the distance in miles.

It's so obvious that your Ernie was so loved. Such tender care you give, even at his grave site. I miss my mom who died over five years ago. Holidays are not the same without her. But she is also in heaven so I long for the day when I will see her again too.

Much love,
Debbie

Too beautiful. What a celebration . . a "healthly" baby boy. I love the idea of the stones, no even the wind can blow the love away that you all share for Ernie . . . too precious. Believe me, you see things about Ernie in those two little grandsons of yours. The pics are adorable. Enjoy this new life. Love, Sandy:O)

Ernesto is loving his family, and obviously--to me--he is watching over you all, and so appreciative of the love you show for one another--and for his memory. May God bless you all SO well!

Pictures and explanations make it so easy to follow your blog...your life.

I am happy to have found you today to celebrate in my own way, the anniversary of Ernesto's passing, and the newborn's arrival 'home'. "Welcome Home!"

Thank you for beautiful everything!
PEACE!

Thanks for sharing this
sweet and touching post
today, Lidj. Little Andre
Elijah is so beautiful
and that first smile is
one you'll probably never
forget. I remember my boys
when they were first born.
Ahh, heaven on earth.
All of your family is so
beautiful. You are blessed
indeed. I know you must
miss Ernie and I don't yet
know how it feels to lose
a husband, but I know the
Holy Spirit within you
gives such a comfort in
knowing you'll be reunited
with Ernie one day.
I see you've read some of
Francis Frangipane's teach-
ings. He is a favorite of
mine. I love the simplicity
of his writing and how he
never fails to bring home
the truth of the Word.
Love,
Sandy

Oh - how I praise God for your grandson's release from the hospital!

Did you know that your Ernie and my Bob - were only a year apart in age? Bob was born in 1947.

So much to praise God for!

Love you Lidj!

Wonderful news! Eleven days in the hospital is just a moment in God's time. It's so glorious that our God grants us the opportunity to take care of a soul and that He shows His power in healing that child when things look dim.

The stones at the grave site touch me. Much love, Lidj.

Lidj,
How I would love to have you as my neighbor!!
And how I would love to meet Full of Hope in person....he is a living doll!

Now for your last comment on my blog- you had me drooling!! I would very much like for you to contact me when you are in VA. And depending on where your sister lives- perhaps we could sneak in an hour at Starbucks or one of the little Italian pastry shops I find in the near future! Talk about fellowship..... it would be an honor and pleasure to spend time with you.
Until then..... our friendship and fellowship will continue via our blogs.
Hugs,Love&Peace

Hi Lidj,
I don't know what it's like to loose a spouse, but I also don't know what it's like to have as close of a relationship that you did with your husband. Your entire family seems so close, and what a blessing that is. My family and extended family are very dysfunctional at this time, and sometimes it so difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Your grandson is beautiful, and what a blessing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about Ernie, because it is a good witness of how we should love and cherish our spouses.

God bless,
Michele Katherine

I stopped by Saturday, but didn't have time to leave a note. However, the birth of a grandchild is something that needs to be celebrated. He is beautiful. Elijah is one of my 11 very favorite names! I think I have learned more about the mighty power of The Father through the birth of my children - and those miracle stories are faith stories to be passed down. Granted, no one wants crisis on a "birth" day - but what a mighty story to tell of God's great favor!

- I love the stones, too. Simple, yet saying so much. Is that a family tradition or a culture tradition?

Some how I have missed these...how precious! The beautiful pictures and how you honored your husband. I love the stones. How many times in scripture God had his people place stones to remind those that came after what God has done in that place...yours stones are doing the same!
